///////////////////// Two New Film Soundtracks, May 22nd, 2008 // PROJECTS ///////////////////// I've been working on these for some time, but as of today the final tracks have been handed off for both these film soundtracks. Some of these tracks may appear in draft form previously on the page. Click on the album art for each of these for the full information on the film, the music credits, and all free downloads.

///////////////////// Empty Bottle Gig, May 3rd, 2008 // INFO ///////////////////// The Empty Bubble Residency and Friends' May 3rd, 2008 - 1pm - Free! In coordination with his thesis exhibit, Joseph Miller, MFA student at University of Chicago, is offering an exclusive viewing of the spaces of the Empty Bottle that he has interacted with over the past two years. Along with Miller’s work, friends The Woodknots (improvised loop building), Ben Kolak (video installation) and Brian Montavon (photo booth), join him.
///////////////////// Improvised Loop Sessions, April 29th, 2008 // NEW MUSIC ///////////////////// Due to the upcoming gig at The Empty Bottle, we have been playing a lot of music lately. These tracks are built with the loop pedal and are mostly improvised on the spot. We now are using two seperate loop pedals and have started experimenting with switching back and forth between them. I have devised this coloring system to differenciate between the different people involved with each track: THIS IS THE KEY Andrew

///////////////////// Moonshine Madness, May 16th, 2007 // NEW MUSIC ///////////////////// It occurred to me that I haven't been posting new music very often any more.Well, here is what I have been up to since the last post in March. Most of these tracks are collaborations with my friend, Jeff Eckle, or with my wife Val, or with both. I've lost track of which ones are which, and it's not really important anyway.

///////////////////// Sometime in March, 2007 // COLLABORATION ///////////////////// I headed up to Wicker Park awhile ago to make some sweet, sweet music with some friends. We all had a hand in these wonderful tracks, Zack Lewis, Jeff Eckle, Geoffrey Hamerlinck, and Alexandra Chitty. Enjoy.
///////////////////// February 3rd, 2007 // NEW MUSIC /////////////////////
Some new music to pass the time. The basement music studio had been freezing cold these last weeks. I'm hesitant to go down there most days, which makes for very slow music making. Luckily, Val brought me her space heater for the time-being.
///////////////////// December 15th, 2006 // NEW MUSIC ///////////////////// A new version of an old song, recorded a few nights ago using pedals and stuff.
///////////////////// Pooh Bear Mad, October 29th, 2006 // NEW LOOPS /////////////////////
Purchased a new loop pedal recently. It is a Boss RC-20 XL and it is my new soul-mate. These are the first 20 loop experiments in order of creation. Each clip below is approx. one minute long. The ones with "**" are collaborations with Geoffrey Hamerlinck
///////////////////// September 27th, 2006 // MUSIC SKETCHBOOK ///////////////////// Just a post of the latest non-polished non-perfected and who-cares music from The Wood Knots. Anyone want to start a band? I got the instruments, just need the people. Chicago, IL represent. PS... I only recomend the first minute or so of each song...
///////////////////// September 11th, 2006 // BODY OF WATER ///////////////////// Some more recent sweet nothings made from mixing together a certain assortment of good and evil. Hope you enjoy.
///////////////////// First Songs from Chicago, August 31st, 2006 // NEW MUSIC ///////////////////// Valerie and I have moved to Chicago! We have been living here for one month, I have set up a sweet music/painting studio in the basement, and have been hammering out some rough cuts for a short film my buddy Brian is making. The film itself is in the editing stages, and I have not seen anything for it, but have read the script and have been given the soundtracks for 'Momento' and 'Donnie Darko' to use as exaples. Here are some rough versions of a couple track I made.
///////////////////// April 4th, 2006 // BUILD A FIRE (MINI-ALBUM) ///////////////////// Lots of stuff to mention, hope I remember all of it... We had a basement show on Saturday, April Fools, celebrating the release of our mini-album 'Build a Fire'. Thanks to everyone who came out. Pretty rough show but we had a lot of fun. This album is now available through us and for FREE from this very page. view a gallery of the artwork here.

We are expecting to start booking shows soon, so look for us around town this summer.

OK. Nevermind. It doesn't look like anyone is helping with a demo. The day we first met with Gordy, the computer decided to die and plans to meet a second time have not materialized. Tomo Ishigaki has joined us after returning from Japan. He now plays second guitar. We might try to do a demo ourselves in the near future, just in an attempt to get some small gigs around town. In the meantime, here are some new-ish recordings. All rough-draft home recordings, of course.
///////////////////// Jan 28th, 2006 // RECORDING A DEMO ///////////////////// The Wood Knots and the Bloody Stumps are going into the studio for the first time today to record a short demo in an attempt to get some local gigs in the upcoming months. Big thanks to Stephan's friend Gordy for helping us out with the recording. We'll post the results up here soon. New instruments aquired: Banjo & Xylophone.
///////////////////// Dec 8th, 2005 // THE BLOODY STUMPS ///////////////////// We recently added two new members and have adopted a new psydonym to fit the new arrangement. Welcome to The Bloody Stumps: the drummer, Stephan Bulawski. and the bass player, Joel Lokken. They are both old friends from our school days and the new arrangement is working out well. We have a new practice space in Stephan's basement, which we are excited about.
///////////////////// Sept 7th, 2005 // WORKS IN PROGRESS ///////////////////// These are all first-takes, improvised recordings of songs we have put together. It's only two of us at the moment, and we record in our living room. Usually, one of us records a track, then the other. These have not been pollished at all. We would like to mess around with some other musicians in a practice space that isn't our apartment. Ahh, turn your listening device DOWN while you're listening please. It's quite scratchy. For older, slightly more pollished recordings, see the bottom of this page.
